Festival english course

Course Format

A two week English course of 20 sessions per week, one local activity each weekday and one weekend excursion.

Course objectives

By the end of this course you will have:

Experienced the Edinburgh Festival and the Festival fringe
 Reviewed many of the shows and performances

Improve your conversational English skills and have a cultural holiday at the time of the world famous Arts Festival. The course offers the opportunity to explore some of the most interesting parts of the Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe Festival . Show reviews from both newspapers and magazines will be analysed and students will learn which shows are most highly recommended.
 
A ticket for the Military Tattoo and 2 other tickets for various music, drama and dance events in the Edinburgh International Festival are included in the fees. Students will have the opportunity to attend other shows in the Festival and the linguistic focus will be on the language of the Arts. Oral and written reviews given by the students will be analysed in detail.
 
Afternoons are free so students can attend performances and visit the city's many galleries and museums. Visits to the Mound to see Fringe Performers and Artists promoting their shows are very worthwhile and are recommended. Other festivals running at the same time include the International Book Festival and the International Film Festival .
 
This programme will appeal to anyone with an Intermediate level of English who has an interest in drama, dance and music from around the world.
