Manchester Academy is an official Cambridge Examination centre. They have courses for the following exams which take place in June and December:
Preliminary English Test (PET)
A pass in PET indicates that the student has the language skills to cope linguistically in typical social and work situations in an English-speaking environment.
First Certificate in English (FCE)
FCE is an upper-intermediate examination, and is the most popular of the Cambridge Exams. At this level learners can expect to be able to work or study in an English speaking environment and cope easily as a tourist in an English speaking country. It is widely recognised in commerce and industry as well as by many university faculties and other institutions.
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
This is a high level final qualification in English for those wishing to use English for professional or study purposes. At this level learners can be expected to cope confidently in most situations that would arise in an English speaking country - socially, professionally and in higher education.
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
This is a very high level final qualification in English, fulfilling English language entry requirements at many British universities, and universities in other English-speaking countries. It is also a qualification for admission to courses for employment demanding a thorough knowledge of English.
